Ultrasonic welding

Ultrasonic welding is a method used by ADDEV Materials, which allows for the sustainable joining of Nomex® by DuPont™ materials (Nomex® pressboard rod welded to Nomex® paper). It promotes a strong bond between materials and ensures environmental friendliness as the process does not require additives.

Process

Ultrasonic welding consists in heating locally, by high frequency vibrations, the materials to be welded with a sonotrode. The welding is then ensured by the heat generated at the interface of the two parts.

Application

Ultrasonic welding is used to create assemblies used in traction transformers.
